SERIOUS HELP!

I thought that you could somehow save sounds (wav. files) or programs or sumthn from the MPC usin the CD drive, I didnt even know if it was able to burn or anything. BAD IDEA!!, it doesnt say anything in the wack ass manual. I was tryn to "format"? like it says in the manual then I pressed LOAD, UTLIITY (deleting), then DO FORMAT and everything NOT ONLY ERASED but then I turned it back on and some WIERD SYMBOLS APPEAR on the LOAD page?? Is this a bug or sumthn what should I do??

and once more, yes you can save your work on cd's and of course yes when you format a cd or a drive it ERASE EVERYTHING.

for the "wierd little symbols " i can't help you i don't have a CD drive. but i think you shouldn't format a blank CD unless it's a CDRW, is that what you did ? if you formated a blank CD and try to read it again that might be the reason of your "wierd little symbols " anyway you might waste a few CD's before getting the technic and get what you want.
Now you can save every thing from samples (wav files), programs, sequences and multi on CD's or Hard drive it's in the "save mode " chapter of the ref manual starting page 84. you can find that manual here : http://www.akaipro.com/int/download/om_dload.html

my advice is get a hard drive anyway it's way easier to save what you want on it, and burn backup CD's if you want.
If you have a computer you also can transfer via USB all your stuff from the MPC to the computer and use your compuyer to burn a CD....
If you want to burn an audio CD (that you can play in your cd player) with the tracks you made in the MPC then quest5 already gave you all you need in that thread of yours : http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=26486

Now it looks like I cant really do anything w/ the MPC. Cant LOAD, SAVE, nuthn.

um...you dont format cd's when you write info on em.

dBd if you still can't load or burn a CD with your MPC and don't want to consider any other option to backup your work i just can see 3 things :

1) either your cd drive is faulty and i would return it to the shop
2) your MPC is fukqed and i would return it to the shop
3) i won't say the third one but i'm very tempted to

but at this point i can't be of anyhelp anymore, i doubt anybody could anyway...

dont worry bout that, jus fixed it all up! I jus finally loaded the 1.7 OS version.
