Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

if you have already recorded everything on to a single track? For instance, I want to be able to play kick, snare, and hihat on a single track. . . and then separate them on to different tracks for each instrument AFTER the fact. Thanks for any help!

Copy track to another Track, Then Step edit each unwanted part out (Then Repeat until done).
It's time consuming depending on the length of the Sequence.

Copy track, Then hit ERASE

Press pad with unwanted sound then DO IT (U can select all events or an "upto point")

Thats quicker

I record my snare and kick on the same track alot because it's easier rhythmically. Then, I copy the track and while in overdub mode, hold the erase button and the pad of the sound that I want to delete (the kick out of one track and the snare out of the other).

I was hoping that there would be a more easier way but thanks for the help guys. I will give it a shot!
