I just need a tad bit more help and I'm done. I'm just startin' to crawl, and I think this is all i need to get me RUNNIN'. How do I EFFECTIVELY use the "SAMPLE" window on the Aksys. I understand the multi mixer thingamajig (duh), but when I go to edit individual sounds on that "other" pop up, it's a no go. What am I doin' wrong. I drag my sound in and start tweakin' to no avail. And when I try to drop the sound onto a keygroup, Aksys shutsdown on me.

Would be nice it the manual was a lil' mo' helpful.

Any USB hubs connected between the Mac and the MPC? Mine caused the ak.sys connection to drop out when I starting copying audio data. No more problems since I've removed it.

Mind you, I'm on a PC. And there are reports of ak.sys crashing on systems without hubs. It's simply not very clear what the problem is, but it's an ak.sys problem, no doubt. Maybe it depends on the type of USB hardware (chip in the computer) involved, dunno.

My Mpc and Ak.sys always errors out on me. After if trasfers a whole file it will error out. I dont understand why it can't handle 100megs with out a damn error.
I wish they would update this program because I love it.

Did you try with another USB port of the computer?

Did you try to remove every other USB cable?

Do you have a good quality, single USB cable running between the computer and MPC? No hubs? No extension cables?

Are you running MPC OS v1.70?

Are you running the latest version of ak.sys?
Do you have the lastest USB driver installed? (Not sure if that's needed on a Mac.)

I know that ak.sys is the problem, but as long as they don't fix it, this kind of stuff may help. With hub I had non-stop problems. Without it's running 100% perfect, and I copied about 2 GB of sample data.

I really didn't get an answer to the question I was askin', but maybe it's because I don't fully remember the window that i'm refferencing, so I'll try this again from home.
Thanx 4 the info you did have though, I was actually thinkin' un HUBbin' due to neccessity.

AIGHT! This is the question I've been meaning to ask. How can I effectively use the Program Edit page. I've dragged and dropped, played with the knobs and nuthin.
Anybody got any tips or can you point me to where I can find the info to how to use it. [/i]

I'm on OSX (mac) and I've followed the manual to no avail.
I open the pgm edit window by clickin' twice on the program that I want to tweak. The window opens and I drag sounds from the existing program into the open fields and it does nuthin' when I go to the filter, lfo, or any other settings I try. The sounds just remain untweaked!
is there sumthin' I need to initiate in order to get it goin'?

I have no probs transferring sounds all of that works. I tried the new usb cable when you suggested it before(when I was havin' set up issues. I have not tried the repair permission because aythin' else works. the multi editor is the sh!t I just wanna be able to focus on one sound at a time and not the entire multi.
I'll give the repair a shot, but i don't think that's what the prob is.
