I may have overlooked the answer somewhere, but I searched long and hard and found everything about Usb and Midi except for what I really needed to know so here is my situation.

I bought an MPC, a wonderful peice of equipment as you all already know. However, I did not know how to get the beats and instrumentals I made on my PC. So I bought this Midi cable thing that transforms into a usb cable, and installed the driver, thinking it would work. It didn't. I don't know how to retrieve the files/beats ect.

Maybe I'm overlooking something very simple. I notice the larger Usb port in the back of the mpc, but I don't know what to buy and where to buy it from. I am willing to buy online, however I don't know what exactly to buy, and like I said, where from.

Thanks in advance.

How did you save your beats on pc and with what program?
That cable you got is not for what your trying to do.

That large usb port on your 1k(?) is for transfer, it's what your trying to do right? go to any pc shop and buy a cheap standard usb printer cable. It's the same cable. Plug one end in your large usb port on the mpc and the other slim usb side into the pc usb. Now you need to read your manual
for an explaination on how to transfer between the two. It still depends on how you saved your beats on pc though..

Hey thanks, I appreciate that. I actually didn't get my beats on my PC though. I was just saying thats what I wanted to do. Thanks though, I'm on my way to the nearest PC store :D

Oh and by the way... whats all this talk about a card reader? Will I need that to put the beats I make on a pc? or is it just to put more samples in my mpc

Hey by the way, I read the instruction manual, but I dont understand thuroughly... how do you actually save a song to a wav format on your mpc that way when you connect it to your computer, you can drag it out onto your desktop and listen to it?
