sampling old songs using fruity loops

i read a few of the other threads here talkin bout how if u pan to the left or the right...u can get the voice to remove of the other was around...well can i do that with a mp3 that i ripped off of a cd with fruity loops...or should i use another program to make the wavs and then import them?

IF you have a sample from a record that actually used this technique (fully panned instruments left and right with no crossover bleed) then any decent sound editor will let you chop off the left or right channel and maintain the opposing one. Check out Sound Forge or anything else and play around with it.
