What it is good people. Im about to get a mpc3000 Ive been using a 2000xl for about 2 or more years. I will keep it. But i want to know about the vga. Does it come standard or do I have to buy it. I want to see for my self about this groove yall speak of. I know some cold producers that use the 3000 and there tracks are hot. But the people using them have been using them for years, there like S.R.V. on the guitar. I hear that the 4000 is nice but I will use a computer to do all my sampling. Im getting it at gc for 1099. let me know about the vga good people.

it's an option, you need to either buy one with the option or buy the option separately.

it runs about $150.

I just purchased the 3000 (!) after using the 2000xl for a while as well. Im going to post a nice "Migrating from the 2000xl" post soon. In regards to the VGA board, I would say its worth it as well. One thing on the 3000 that is different from the 2000 from the start, is the brightness of the backlight. Unmodified, the backlight of the 3000 is not as bright as the backlight in the 2000xl. With the VGA board, you could use a nice small but decent size monitor, place it at eye level and work away. I would say its very worth it at a decent price and if you can afford it.

If I could find a decent price one it would be mine. I must admit though I love modding my gear so that might play into it as well......

I would love it if someone could mod the backlight to be brighter if not as bright as the 2k, that is the only thing I really like about the 2k's, I like the bigger screen on the 60, so if you figure out how to make it brighter, post it up man cuz that would be gully.

http://backlights.telesisgear.com/

They install brighter backlights and I believe you can get different colors.......

Never tried them though so I cant vouch for them.

Edit:I am sure you knew this already though.....

Nahm I got a newish white one, it still doesn't compare to the 2k brightness, that joint would make a good flashlight! only it's a little smaller than the flashlight screen size.

Funny thing is, that 2000 screen was bright and I loved it, but when I turn all the lights out, my 3000 shines bright as anything and I love that too.

Be careful using the MPC in the dark. Your pupils open wider in the dark, and if you stare at the screen too long, that shtt will burn a hole in your eyes and you'll be seeing a big white spot for days. :(

(probably more dangerous with the XL cause it's so damn bright)
