My mpc just froze.....?

So, I'm in the middle of making a beat, and and Mr. 4000 freezes up on me when I'm loading in sounds. Stuck on the load page, and the 16 pads are the only buttons on the whole thing that are working.

What have I done?
What can I do?
This beat was ill,
But not nearly through.

Can anything be done besides turning it off and losing a couple hours of work?

It's a Wrap Doggy, that happened to me in the middle of a blazer. So if you do get the answer let me know....

Same thing happened to me about a week ago...I was pissed. One thing that I could have done but forgot to do, because I did it before and it worked....I opened up aksys and was able to save everything in memory with the pc. I re-booted the 4k and loaded up the folder and started exactly where I left off.

Are you sure it's the same bug. A freeze is a bug, but just because you saw
a freeze and somebody else saw a freeze, does NOT mean that you are seeing
the same thing or that it is the same bug.

One of you may be in the sample page adding QFX and another might be in the Track Mute page, recording Track Mute sequences, and another might be in the Q-Link page tweaking knob settings. All 3 would most likely be DIFFERENT bugs.

Did you report specifics to the Akai at [email protected] of the specifics of exactly what you were doing at the time of the freeze so they would start looking at it. If you
just tell us here at mpcforums.com, that's great for us, but if you don't let Akai know
and they don't see this on their system, then it will not be addressed in future releases.

One can only fix what is known to be wrong.
