question...spreading out sounds

does anyone know if you can take a sound/sample on the MPC 2000xl and spread it out over a keyboard? ya know....like ummmmm....a guitar sample over 61 keys. hope i made that clear.

no. you need a sampler. not a mpc.

Yes you can... if you have a controller keyboard, you can map a note to the keys just like you would map it to the pads using 16 levels.

Unfortunatley, i never use this method... so thats about the extent of my expertise on the subject.

or you can go to the program screens and press auto on the sound you want and it will create a new program with the sound mapped out all chromtically. side effect is it wont be all in order when you play it on the keyboard cuz the mpc maps weird, but you could go in to each sound and reassign it to make sense on the keys. they will be in order on the pads though.

there is a blank program on this site in one of the MPC tutors tutorials (prolly the multisample or recycle ones) where he has already mapped the pads (which are set up for GM drums, thats why its all "funny") to correspond with a keyboard. Load the blank program and then add the sounds to it.
