is it possible to record arpregiator settings on the mpc?

I have a microkorg and I can't seem to get it to record the arp settings on the mpc when I play it
its able to play everything else I have got programmed but it won't to the arp part

youll have to record the arpeggiated notes coming out of the korg onto a track on your mpc.

The arp on the micro may not transmit midi notes out, you can use a controller to spit the notes to the micro, if the micro receives external notes for the arp and doesnt need it to be from the keyboard, then you could even just switch local off and use it's kebaord but then sequence it with the MPC. If you mean the actual settings of the arp, that depends on the midi implemantation of the micro, might be routable to some CCs, but it's probably gonna be sysex.

i cannot see why the notes won't be output. although i have had limited experience with the microKORG. but the arpeggiated notes are midi events and would deffenently go out. you may just have to leave the arpeggiator on that certain patch and record your notes to trigger it this is the way i do it just have your arp set to external clock.

Many synths don't send their arp patterns out via midi. On some synths like Nord Leads it is an option, and some always send them out. Apparently the Korg doesn't send them by default, but it might be switchable.

The Micro is probably using NRPN's to transmit the data for the arpeggio.
The problem with that is there is no set standard for the use of NRPN's and RPN's so manufactures have different ways of implementing them into their products.
In other words different devices from other vendors will see and handle RPN/NRPN data differently.
Some devices might understand it and some won't.
They are a pretty effective way to deal with control data but is still somewhat open ended.
For this reason most devices default setup is NRPN disabled to avoid conflicts in the data stream.

write them by yourself ... it's more than easy to write your own apreggios, i write them in cubase and export it as a MIDI file - you'll fint plenty of faq's an turorials in the net
