Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I HAVE AN MPC2KXL AND A ROLAND XP-60 KEYBOARD. WITH THE XP-60, IT ONLY LETS YOU USE ONE EFFECT EVEN IN MULTITIMBRAL MODE. EXAMPLE: IF I USE THE WAH EFFECT ON TRACK ONE, ALL OF THE OTHER TRACKS WILL HAVE TO USE THE WAH EFFECT OR HAVE NO EFFECT AT ALL. I WAS CONSIDERING PURCHASING AN MPC1000 TO SAMPLE ALL OF MY KEYBOARD PARTS SINCE THERE IS NO WAY TO SAMPLE WHILE A SEQUENCE IS PLAYING. ANY GOOD ADVICE OR TIPS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

First off: GET OFF THAT CAPS LOCK KEY. It's like screaming.

Second: use a more descriptive topic title.

I'll try to help you out, even though your problem is hardly MPC-related.

Are you sure the XP60 only has a global effect? It's a workstation, so I'd expect it to have send or insert effects. Isn't it something like a JV module with a keyboard? Check the manual again. Buying another MPC to sample you keyboard parts sounds backwards to me. It's highly impractical for this. You'd be much better off (a) buying a digital multitrack recorder, or (b) adding a module that does allow you to add FX to each instrument seperately (s/h 1080 or 2080, or something E-MU or Korg).

Thanks, Lo-fi, for taking the time out to help me with my problem. The xp-60 is pretty much the same as the jv module. I'll research the manual to find out if i can set effects to each track. Notice that I didn't use CAPS LOCK this time. Peace.
