People using MPC 8 outs and multitrack software...

Hey guys,

I have a couple of quick questions. I just got a ProTools 002 rack and am about to get the 8 outs for my 2kxl and was wondering how some of you guys set this up. When you have the 8 outs all hooked up to the unit do the left and right main outs still work? Say I want to sequence with the MPC without recording or messing around with tracks in PT, what would be the best way to go about it? When the 8 outs are installed and I want to make a new beat from the start how are pads assigned to the different outs? Or do you have to change them manually?
