Listen to the song "Much More" by De La Soul produced by JayDee.

Then, listen to the song "Reason" by Nas produced by L.E.S.

Now let me just say that I thought "Much More" was dope the first second I heard it. Once I saw De La do it on Chappelle's Show, I had so so so so much more respect for this song and De La themselves. Now that's what I call lyracism. Pos and Trugoy are just sick wit it and Yummy's voice is just amazing.

Nas rides the beat on "Reason" and some girl named Emily does the chorus. It sounds so good, but the thing is that they both sound almost exactly the same.

NOW I HAVEN'T SAID ANYTHING ABOUT BITING.

JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE (BESIDES ME) NOTICES THIS.

Can you post that reason track with you send it or something?

It wouldn't be the first time Dilla was sweated that hard, cats like kanye and 9th wonder sample his instrumentals for drums.

excuse me...

You haven't heard "Reason" yet elmacaco???

It's so dope. It's on the latest Nas album, "Street's Disciple".

It sounds exactly like "Much More" by De La Soul on the latest De La album.

I think it would be nice to hear Nas rhyme over a Dilla beat.

yeah it does sound dead like it. same sample at least. both joints are tight but i think de la's was a lil tighter.

another crime is buckwild's beat on 50's shit. exact same beat as ghost face's metal lungies. just not as good :x

Yeah that's another thing you have to look at Lord Toranaga.

J. Sands put that quote on the back of that 12" he put out...I forget what it's called...I think it was "Manifest" or something. He looped up the same break from that Sadat X song which I can't really remember the name of either, but you might know what I'm talking about.

YOU JUST GOTTA MAKE SURE IT'S DOPE.

AND PLEASE REMEMBER THAT I SAID BOTH SONGS ARE DOPE.

:)

and I agree with vakseen that De La's was a lil tighter.

L.E.S. use the same loop from Freeways Will you Cry by Kanye West for the song Moment of Silence with Nas.

I like L.E.S but come on now change it up a little. :D

I know Blue Haze. That's what I'm saying. L.E.S. is dope just for doing a whole lot of sh*t with Nas. I just hope he isn't getting lazy.

Or at least mention JayDee's name in the credits or something.

the tracks you re mentioning exact titles are Freeway - Hear The Song & Nas feat Quan - Just A Moment

by the way, Kanye's beat is much tighter than L.E.S. on this one, better use of the sample

we are all using the same equipment, and the same records. any one of us could be using the same record, at any given point in time.

when you look at hip hop in simplest form. We are all biters. We use records and beat machines to make our own music. We are definately not the first ones to do this. No one on this forum was the first person to chop up a breakbeat.

just my opnion

And I also have to say that I've got nothing against looping up the same break as someone.

When Kanye produced "Selfish" by Slum Village, he looped up the same break that Inspectah Deck used on the song "Spazzola" by Method Man. SAME BREAK, DIFFERENT BEAT. And might I add that "Spazzola" was so so so much doper than "Selfish". Weird...being that Inspectah is more of an emcee than a producer.

I'm talking about making the same beat.

I don't know if L.E.S. used the same break as Dilla, but he definitely made the same beat.

AND REMEMBER THAT I'M NOT ACCUSING ANYONE OF BITING.

I JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE NOTICED IT.

I LIKE TO HEAR OTHER PEOPLES' OPINIONS.

SO HATE, OR SHOW LOVE. I'M NOT GONNA GET MAD.

JUST DON'T BE AFRAID TO SAY WHAT ((YOU)) FEEL.
