Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I still havent had any success at my midi dump yet. Im working with mpc2000xl and virus indigo 11. I want to store the multi Im working on with virus into the mpc so that when I load later the multi with its 16 parts is restored to virus and I can continue working. I have done everything everyone has said, I donot believe it can be this complicated.
The manual of the virus says to do a midi dump 'rx' 'arrangement' but I have noticed that you can only do midi dump 'tx' 'arrangement'(figured must be typo) so performed tx. So Ive finished my sequences which Ive converted to a song then I put a couple of bars at the front of song as instructed press record and play and press store on virus. Dump is successful. Then I use the same multi program of virus to work on new song with different parts. When I reload the first song into mpc , the virus does not play the parts of first song but parts of current song.
Do i need to reload everything manually back to virus?
Perhaps I donot have the mpc set up correctly?
I would really appreciate somebody telling what settings the mpc should have?
I have noticed that some people on this forum either just give short vague answers like they presume I am at the same level of understanding or they say really stupid obvious things like 'read a book' or 'just enjoy the music'. Its really unhelpful and irritating to say the least so unless you have something real to offer please donot respond to this topic. I am especially interested in hearing from people using virus indigo 11 with mpc2000xl. cheers

Please remember that this site is free and run by volunteers who generously offer their insight and guidance to complete strangers, so any answer should be respected, especially if it's 'use the search finction this has been answered before' - I've read your original post and there are many helpful answers there. Also remember that primarily, support for your MPC should be requested from Akai themselves - and if you think we suck, you're in for a treat when you try to get Akai to help you.

Please continue all replies to the original topic in the original thread.
