Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

ok heres my problem:

theres the a,b,c, & d banks right. lets say i have the sounds of one beat on each bank so i have 4 beats altogether saved on the zip disk.

say i delete the sounds of bank A from the MPC (while its still saved to disk) to open up room. now say i make a new beat on bank A and want to save it to disk even though i had another beat saved on bank A. is this possible to do????

and whats the best way to save sounds and sequences? like, what to name the files and how to save them properly

thank you in advance!!

I've solved this problem by creating new folders everytime I save something. Open up the "Root" in the upper right corner and create a new folder and put everything in there. If you want to just save the programs and/or samples, you can do the same thing. hope this helps 8)

i have the standard also. you can not make folders like you can on the XL so disregard that other suggestion. i think you are just confused about how the mpc saves sequences and programs and stuff in general. on the mpc when you make a new beat (sequence) you can name this by selecting the sequence number at the top left of the main screen and hitting open window. input a name using the pads and hit enter then close to name it. now you can save your new named beat (sequence) to the zip. same thing with programs you can rename and resave the program if you have changed the sound settings or anything like that.

Hey I cant find a Root menu on my XL - Its supposed to be in the top right of the 'Load' screen isn't it? - Is this cause I'm not using a Zip drive?
