Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I have a friend of mine in NY who is also a producer. He has an MPC2000Xl and I do too. I live in Texas and we both work with artists around where we live. Sometimes some of his artists would hear a beat from me that I had sent to him as an MP3 file and they would want to work with it and viceversa. So in order to be able to break down the beat and do the arrangement to the song once it had been recorded we mail each other a copy of the floppy for the beat but one day my boy had the idea of trying to email the sequence and program file as an attachment to an email. We where all excited thinking it was going to work but it didn't. For some reason loading up the files to the computer changed something to where the MPC won't recognize the file. Is there a way around that or did we do something wrong?

Make sure you format the floppy for the MPC before copying the files from the PC to it. Also, watch your filenames. Long filenames get shot to hell in transfer between PC and MPC.

You are sending all the wavs or snds with the PGM file, right? If not it'd give you the "couldn't find file" error.
