Triggering sequences on midi devices connected to MPC2000xl

I've only recently acquired an MPC2000xl and I'm loving it already (why didn't I get one years ago?!!!). I've got a very modest set-up which includes a Korg X5 and then "daisy-chained" to that I've got the Korg Electribe EA1 and ER1. From the second set of midi in/out's on the MPC, I've got a Roland MC-303 connected.

I've managed to use each of the synths as a sound module by triggering individual notes from the MPC, but I was just wondering if there was a way of triggering whole sequences that I've composed in the Electribes or the 303 from the MPC?

First of each machine is different in their sequencing capabilities. Do they have onboard sequencers? If so then you insert a program change in the sequence of the MPC; preferably you should leave 2 blank bars at the beginning of the sequence, and insert program changes just before the bar you want. For example: If you want the MPC to trigger another sequencer on bar 5 then you add a program change at 4:80:00.

That's about all I know right now.

I've worked with two electribe models (still rock an ES1) and they're real fun and easy to use. I've also run an MC-303 at one time but was less than thrilled with it's "works well with others" capabilities. (though I won't knock its sounds as some people have, or the filter and other effects it has. Those were pretty rad)

What follows is syncing via MTC:

First thing to do on all the units you're sequencing externally on (like the electribe pieces) is to turn clock to EXT. Set the MPC's MIDI sync to Master and On for the port you've got the pieces chained off of (A or B). They are connected via the X5's Thru port and so on to the next, right?

At this point all the sequencer devices should start simultaneously upon pressing the Play, Stop, Play from Start and so on. The electribe models don't have compatible bar-skipping transport controls that I recall, so you'll have to limit your controls to the three keys mentioned previously.

Don't worry about getting complex with program changes and so on till you've got your basic setup mastered. The move on to all that step editing and whatever else.
