L.E.S. used same beat as Jay Dilla???

i def agree with u el. i'd NEVER even thing about sampling something current. shiiiit i hate to even sample anything after 1980. thats just me tho. buuuut what do u think about these r&b joints. u know how sooooo many r&b joints these days are samples of current or recent hip hop joints. theoretically, is that as wrong?? just wondering

Think of how many hip hop joints are sampling new RnB joints!! Why is it that dreads always have that integrity shyt on lock?

I'm not saying it's wrong, it's just incest. If you can't bring something new to hip hop, and you just want to nip at the heels of Just Blaze and such, then you sample the drums and stuff they used already, that's like taking sloppy seconds. I'd rather bring in some eskimo chick that no one has ever seen before and make them say DAAAAAAAAAAAAMN!! than try and get kelis after nas, or a chick that looks like kelis and is hot and all, but is just a knockoff.

I swear, a lot of cats I think would be happy with a drum machine that just has the drums from curent hits.

Kanye owns no drums man, he steady rippin them off others.

You'd be surprised, I've seen a few MPC's that belong to famous producers, no turntable, but a cd player with new hits. Some of them even name their sounds like Rkelly kik, Destchild snare, mcnite gtar. These were not from people that produced those artists.

Maybe you're not the biggest Nas fan, but I recommend that you pick up "It WasWritten". A lot of artists that came from QB are good.

YUP!!!

I do that same thing vak. 79 and earlier. Sampling sh*t from the 80's has Puff Daddy written all over it.

I heard this song on the "Honey" soundtrack. Missy had something to do with it. They looped up the beginning of the song "Ya'll Been Warned" by Wu-Tang. You could even hear Meth's voice throughout the whole song.

Terrible. Just terrible.

20 years from know, Our kids will be sampleing these records, and not even thinking twice,


I own all , the nas albums but, streets disciple. I bought them last year, I just have not listened to them.
