Hello everyone,
I just got hip to the forums and I am now in heaven. This site is incredible! Finally, answers to all the questions that keep me awake at night. So here's my situation... I've played a few different instruments since I was a kid and have been making beats with an ASRX Pro for about a year (please don't laugh, it was very affordable). I mostly sample vinyl and other instruments. I am wanting to get into an MPC but I'm wondering about some of the editing features of the 60 and 2000. Editing samples numerically on my X is easy enough although sometimes the rotory knobs skip and jump which makes me crazy
. I guess I am wondering how sample editing is done on both the 60 and 2000. I know the 60 has very limited sample time which I assume means less sample to edit. Chopping up soundwaves visually (2000/xl right?) sounds like fun but does'nt seem like a necessity. From what I have gathered, the 60 sounds like it works best in conjunction with another sampler like an asr10 or s950 while the 2000 is more of an all in one. If I went the 60+asr route I would probably want to sample and edit on the asr correct? If I'm making sample heavy beats is using the MPC60 by itself even an option? The 60 appeals to me for it's build quality, sequencer and dummy friendliness but I'm sure the 2000 shares many of the same features and a lot more. The 60/asr combo seems to make sense to me, asr for the keys,melodies and samples and the 60 for the drums and sequencing. As I mentioned before, I am a dummy on a budget. I want to keep it simple. I apologize in advance for my newbie ignorance. I'm sure everyone here is tired of the asrvsMPCvsMPC thread. I am just now getting a grip on my options. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
