But there's no need to throw away a perfectly functioning thread.

My production tip of the day: "What to do when you want a live bassline but don't have a bass guitar".

Use a regular electric guitar, use only the neck mic (if it has more than one) and shave off everything over 2khz when you've recorded it. Add a touch of compression to remove flab and there you have it.

Kitchen sink w/ pot and pan sounds. Bathtub aint got that much versatility.

plus we all know that you cant quite get that waste-disposal bass tone with a bathtub- ive tried blenders, cpu fans- you need a proper waste-disposal- and dont think vsti's will cut it- they wont...

not only that, you can't use any of these cheap new style ones like they put into kitchens these days. Only a vintage GE yellow case or Westinghouse from the '70s has that genuine waste disposal tone. Another tip, add a cup or two of pudding to tone down the 8k 'sizzle'.

I wanna see a dude in a video with an mpc on one of them floatie rings in a hot tub, and having it plugged in to power and audio, maybe a turntable with water wings hooked up too.

Riskin electrocution for the beats!!!
