I’ve been away from my studio for quite a while now, just working on sketches of songs and creating sounds/programs, I have one or two songs that are completely 4k and sound all right but need to be stepped up in production to be valid for a commercial release,
I’m trying to pay off depths, I can’t afford studio time and I don’t like leaving my tracks in someone else’s DAW thus I was on the verge of packing and heading back to my studio in Europe to finish of my trax,
but last night when I was browsing though all the digital mastering suits and VST FX on the web (I know I’m late on this) I realized since we have an ADAT out option on the 4k I could simply invest in & buy the adat board and a cheapo ADAT to USB converter and run my Audio tracks though the digital domain and mix and apply a whole world of great sounding DSP on 10 outs at a time via adat, seeing that most software (even the high end stuff is available on the web..
So here we are babbling on about crappy internal FX when we virtually have VST support!!! All you need is a VST host & it need not be a complete DAW, there are VST host available that are just a plain virtual mixers
I have a question though? there are 10 outs and 2 return on the adapt board does that mean I can be playing my 10 tracks and bounce a stereo mix (ei 2return) back to my MPC for recording/resampling at the same time?
any recommendations for inexpensive adat to usb or fierwire interface?24/96 compatible
thx!!!
