anyone know what OS needs to be running on a PC for the smart media/usb to work fine?

does the fact that it has USB mean that I can just pull files from my PC and load them from PC to the 1000?

how do I transfer the smart media memory to PC.....I know you can with digital cameras, but an MPC? (what I mean is.....is there some cable that comes with it or anything i can buy in stores to transfer files from the card to PC, or does the above question take care of that dilemma?)

This is from Akais HP:

"The MPC1000 supports the "MASS STORAGE CLASS" USB standard. What this means is that when connectedto a Mac or PC via the MPC1000's USB port, the Mac/PC sees the MPC1000 as a Compact Flash card reader without the need for any cumbersome driver installation on your computer (*). This simple implementation allows you to simply drag and drop data between your desktop and the MPC1000's CF card to build up sound library on your CF card or vice versa to back up data on your CF card."

Win 98 or later. I've got XP, which will work automatically, but 98 requires a driver to be loaded onto it.

Yes. You just run your USB cable and treat the unit as an extra drive. 8)

It won't use Smart Media, but rather Compact Flash cards, of which one 32meg card will come included. The USB cable you'll buy yourself, or already have lying around.
