goin' diggin'....thick bass??

yeah i'm going diggin next week and i'm lookin' for thick bass...nice basslines...i've got a list of about 15 records i'm lookin' for i'd like to add more to this...any suggestions. I actually got lucky about a month ago as I picked up pretty much every Rolling Stone album in mint condition...to find out they were all original pressings at $5 each. I'm feelin' all the old Stones shit lately.

Like I said...any suggestions??

Funk records have the best basslines, especially the solos.

Some Older ROCK n JAZZ (Amad Jamal had Some NICE Basses or Mingus etc.)

Funk records of course...
Also look for early fusion records, before it all started sounding too electronic. Those fusion cats have a tendency to play tons of notes in very little time (not good) but also have those passages or whole tracks where they do the long, sparse stuff (great for sampling). You can get some nice rhodes from those records as well.

nice...I havent went yet so i'll check those suggestions out...I already have Mingus on my list but i'll sheck some early fusion too....one.

Old Reggae Records have the illest basslines ever! Check out some 70s Reggae...Can't go wrong with Reggae!
