Man that mixer is big!!! It makes the 60 look small!!

Yes it is really nice coz mostly you can do everything sitting right there, everything is reachable sittin in the chair and the most important stuff to see like the screens for the s1000 and s900 are right there at eye level. There's a couple a problems.. like the monitor blocks the right channel speaker too much but thas gonna be fixed when K buys a flat screen.

The mixer is an old school Tascam m512, weighs like 100 pounds! It's like the final fronteir for me I don't really understand all of it yet. LOL. It's nice to use though because it's huge and has that "feel" ya trust.

oh btw if anybody wants a 12 bit rack an they're a little short the s900s are selling mad cheap on ebay... $50 to $100. After hearing an sp1200 recently live I would like an emax, it's got a different sound I liked.

Just get a rack of analogue fx for processing your samples and you've then got a BIG sound that will give you the edge like no other tracks around at the moment.

I think heavy analogue processing (filtering/phasing/distortion/spring reverb/BBD delays) combined with the classic beat machines has been fairly untouched with with Hip Hop. Unless someone can point me to a few albums?

Yeah!!! The Emax is the shyt, I love mine, I'm even using the indi outs on a track now, while the s6000 has a mono out and 15 outs unconnected.

I recently played with an SP-12, very fun, but It made me miss the emax because it has much of the same stuff but you can't use the filters like you want to, and the emax is more flexible in many ways.

It's a beautiful old school machine. If you get an emax, make sure youi get an SE HD model, with the panel graphics for SE HD. With Kiira's technical knowhow you can get external scsi and a zip drive for real cheap on it.

yea in the rack jus to the right in the picture is all the analog recording stuff, a tube pre, several compressors, Lexicon, a Manley/Langevin Dual Vocal Combo and some wacky toys mostly analog processing things from the 80s. My Ensoniq esq-1 is to the left in the picture covered with a dresser scarf. I choose the dresser scarves to use that's my important technical contribution. LOL.

Thanks (as usual!) for the info in the emax elmacaco I was looking at a couple on ebay even though I can't afford one right now. I need an SE HD, yeah. I just liked the sound of that sp1200 even though I love the 60 and the 900. 'K laterz et back to sampling some cymbels into the s1000. I wish it was as easy as the 60 dang.
