i was wondering if anyone else had the same approach to making their music as i do.
i've recently started to convert my mpc snd files to waves so i can use them in the redrum. i don't mess with the sequencer in reason i still use my mpc as my main sequencer because there's no better sequencer for me. i also use a jv-1010 and an ensoniq mr-61. i'll make a beat then i'll make a sample from the riffs or melodies i did with my jv and mr61 record them into soundforge then from there i'll make a rex file using recycle. when all of that is done i'll save my midi sequence to a floppy then import it into to reason which allows me to automate my sequences and get creative with effects and gives me more control when it comes to mixing my beats.
