Combine different kicks together and see what you come up with, the volume will be loud though so u will have to turn it down, also combine different snares together and see how they sound. Try your own combinations and see how they turn out cause only YOU know how YOU want your drums to sound.. know what I'm sayin..

I like to:
sample, normalize, eq and compress my kicks. then I will layer them to find a nice puncy sound. record these to the pc and mess with it a little more, maybe some multiband compression or what not, resample it and load it back in the mpc for use.

All of these suggestions will make nice azz kicks to use with hard hittin beats.
