You need to assign the samples to a program.

HI DaSoof,

A couple of things that you need to clarifiy in order for people to be able to help you.

Where you are trying to hear the sample? There are several different "pages" on the MPC that one can hear and trigger a sample and there are a variety of different "monitoring" options in order for one to determine what one wants to hear.

Simplest way:

1) Load Page = Load the Sample that you wish to hear.

2) Select Sample Page - and then select F2) softkey
Make sure that you can see the wav form (that sample you loaded is NOT blank)

3) Sample Page - in the F2) page of the Sample Page, make sure that "Monitor" is on
"sample" and not "multi" or "Program".

4) From this page you press a pad to hear the sample or press the "Play All" F6 softkey.

Can you hear from here?

If so, where can you NOT hear a sample.

If not, can you plug the headphones in and turn up the headphone volume and verify that
you are NOT seeing an issue wtih your mixing board and or monitors?

It's easier to give advice if you give specific details of what you are trying to do (where are you) and how you are doing it? In your original statement it's about 2 sentences long and all you rreally put up is that you clear the memory and load a sample and can't hear it.

So the adrian and bleepfreak responded that you need to assign to a program and assign to a multi, you respond back that you are beyond the basic things but then do NOT go into details on what you are doing and how you are doing it. With the initial description, my response would have been assign to a program and then assign that program to a multi.
in your response all that you say is that you have assigned them to the pads (which is basisclly adding it to a program) but don't indicate that you have assigned that program to a mulit.

Hope the above helps in providing steps to hear samples when loaded, or helps in showing what people need to hear in order to assist you with the problem.

Cheers,

Dave

Thank You!

Why should I or any one give him a complete answer when he dosen't give a complete detail of what he is doing.

fair enuff. i agree on that.

well, all the basic things such as assigning to pads and making sure if my phones are conected have been done.

Its not just one sound, its everything. Anything i load after a format of the mpc dosent play. In any window, apart from sample list. In other words, it dont assign sounds to pads after i format the mpc.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

dasoof. i think you still dont got a multi in there! you say ther s nothin apart from sample page there. you need a multi as you need programs within it. if you want that every time a multi and program is there per default when you switch 4k on or when you delete everythin - go to global page and set default items to on - last thing has been changed with last os i think.

and a hint. you r comin from an older mpc model - right? i m sure you know your shyt! so - really no offence intended: i just mean it good! other people comin up from 2xl or so had trouble too ... RTFM - i know its written horribly and its a mess coz there are too many meanwhile. but that doesnt help! you know how mpcs work basically but you need to understand the different concept between the 4k and the other ones. its different. read it one time - you wont regret it!

manual - expalins basic things.

reference manual goes into detail.

abbendums - explain everythin that has been changed and are not acurate in the other 2 ones. ie: forget about q-link in the original manuals - thats completely redone in os 1.33 or so ...

i know it sux ... but just do it ... it will save you lotsa time in future.

peace
