Black line on screen

Ok, i was making a beat...got up and got a beer, came back and theres a black line running across the screen. the mp is still fully functional, except it has one black line running across the screen. i can work around it, but im just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what it is, how to get rid of it.

sounds like a bad LCD screen. It probably needs to be replaced. I doubt you could fix it yourself.

open it up, and check the cable connction. If you do need a screen. I believe it is quite expensive, as it is sold a one whole unit. It would not be that difficult to replace yourself.



I would like to see a external screen modification.

There is no way of fixing the black line, you will need a new LCD display. The LCD displays cost about $300. If the MPC under warranty call AKAI, most likely you will have to be put on a waiting list for a replacment. Changing out the LCD is fairly easy I recommend doing it yourself instead of shipping it in.

I opened my unit to install ram and CD.
After putting it all back together my screen was covered with lines.
Had to take it to cimplesolutions(UK) to repair.
As it was only a cable connection problem, all was ok.
Check with an expert before shelling out for a new screen.
