putting in tic tic

i have this hi hat sound it sounds like a tic.

every time i tap it in,it on beat for two bars but the third bar goes off and even thou i hit it on beat ,

its like this---- tictic-titictic iwant it to sound like this but it dont come out like that it goes off , is it my timing i'm recording on 1/16 and i tried 1/32
what s going on. any help fellas i appreicate it.

Try recording again from start at 1/16. Maybe you recorded the first 2 bars in 1/16 and the last 2 in 1/32 which would explain the differences if you didn't hit it perfectly. I don't know.. Try doing it over all in the same timing ie.. 1/16.

yeah done it.. when i said i tried it ,in those timings they where different recordings.

i dont want to use the step recording mode cause it seems easier to just tap it. but if it comes down to it i have to do it.

With the step recording u can get little taps in there that are not numanly possible or many possible if you have very wuick hands. I use it for drum rolls sometimes or a layed back off beat type feel..

try with triplets: 1/16(3)

i switch off the timing-funktion of the mpc, when i want it to swing. it takes some time, but then it sound better then when recorded with timing and pushed around afterwards.
when recording it that way it is usefull to record on the 3rd or 4th bar and have a "pre roll" before that -to play along at the beginning.

try it at 1/8 and then add 1/16 to it.

i thought i had, but now it's just one tic that is off. i kno i can fix it in step record. but why is it doing this,


could it be maybe my sample is not edited right ,
that should'nt efeect that way you tap a hi hat right.

Make sure you are tapping right on time where u want it and try in 1/8 first, then 1/16 or 1/32. Make sure your tapping is dead on.. With the cursor on timing ?/? hit "Open Window" and check the timing also. You can tap the pad you want to correct timing on and set it to 0%. Maybe that will help also.. If none of that works then go into step edit and correct it that way. If all these fail then your tapping is just off.. Hopefully that aint the case.. But u should DEFINITELY be able to get it where you want it with these steps..
