Them peeps went up like 5 or 7 g's. My homey went through orientation got his stuff right. After all that they raised the price. They want 5hun just to hold you a spot. They can sail with a mouth full of the nizutts.

i spent a good year traveling around north america checking diff schools (US and canada)and although full sail had a glitzy aproach, they didnt seem to be very student friendly and after some time of meeting thier grads, most said for the price they really shouldnt have of went there. I choose the conservatory of recording arts and sciences in tempe az. not only did thier education far surpase full sails, the price was only about a quarter as much. after pell grants my 13,500 was only about 6,500 ...now full sail would of been prob 35,000$... im guessing thats what they are up to by now.. not worth it for an industry were odds are your going to be shleping coffee for the first 6 months to year anyways if you can be lucky to find a studio were the head engineer or asst is retiring...hope that helps

I have not heard good things from a few other music students I have talked to.

i got a friend that graduated from full sail. last i heard he wasnt doin to well with what he left out wit. he was appling for jobs at other places n sh!t.

You've probably got the jist of what everyone has said already, but I'll just add that after my initial college experience, I'm wary of schools with 'real' pretty presentation:brochures/websites... Kinda like the style vs. substance thing.

For a lot less than 30k you could get yourself a Bachelor's degree at an accredited school. And likely for something that is going to pay a lot better and have better benefits. To make it even better you can get grants, scholarships, loans to go to an accredited university.

After carefully managing expenses and not really buying any gear for the past couple of years I finished my 4 year degree recently and am currently in the Masters program. I still have not spent any money out of my pocket. I will be attending the Doctorate program in 2007.

I would say for the price, look for an alternative. Full Sail is attractive but the true education and guidance that you need can be found somewhere that may be more affordable. However, if your heart says to go with it and you can handle the costs, go for it. I definitely don't mean to offend you or anyone on this site, but if it were me, I would pray to God about it. I personally believe that if you live by God's law and ask for his help, he will get you through anything (more than financial issues also). This is just my two cents. I feel that I have to give you my opinion. I was also considering Full Sail at one time and decided that my goal of truly learning, understanding, and being successful in the audio world could be achieved without attending a program that was so expensive. I plan to attend an alternative audio school or just continue to pursue the audio world without educational certification. Besides that, the music industry mostly moves off of pure talent anyway. If you're very talented, your work won't be able to be ignored with or without formal teaching. So I believe you should choose which way you go. The reason that desire to attend one of these schools are better understanding and apply mastering to my works. I could always use help and improve with my production technique also. But masteing on a professional level is my main concern and need from audio school. I seriously hope that I don't discourage you in any way. I just hope that you extensively research your situation because only "you" can figure out the solution that is meant for you. Different things are meant for different people. Consider these things: For what "purpose" are you going? Do you "need" the education that they provide? Will they truly "provide" that education? What is your "specific" goal? How will this help you reach your goal? I hope I have helped you because I went through the same thing. The school that I am looking at currently is SAE. Check out www.sae.edu. Yo i'll say this to you bro, this is where i was gonna go last year when i graduated high school.... my boy goes there now... he likes it... my other boy graduated there and wishes he never went... if i was you though i'd look at Hampton University.... you can go for 4 years, get you a Bachelors in the Music Engineering major..... and then even if you can't find a job, a lot of other jobs in other fields will pick you up just because you have a degree!

Is it mainly the price that got people on the cold side for full sail or is it just the whole school in general? Imma go to the orientation in June so I'll really know whats up.

I am attending ARTI in Orlando. Beats paying 30k for Full sail. ARTI offers mix theater in a THX certified studio. Cool stuff. I got my job when I first started school. I called around everyday until I found one hiring. I work for an AV company and all the Full sail grads that I have meet got jobs. But most of the jobs they got are at the bottom making $10/hr. I haven't met anyone in the field from any school that is an engineer yet. All the old folks got to give it up soon....!!
