Ok here's the deal:
When I start up my mpc 3k with the floppy inserted everything is fine, BUT
if I want to add a sample from another floppy or save the .seq to another disk it says: "..there is no floppy.. "etc
What to do??

Peace!

HI,

i have had this problem, one problem maybe that the connection to your floppy is the wrong way round.
Have you just replaced the drive if so and if your ribbon is connected the right way round, as i said at the start, it maybe that the drive isn't compatible to the MPC.

I might be getting confused with what your sying just thought it may help as i have replaced the drive in mine tonight, and had a fuse blow !!
:)
peace !

Thanx anyway!!

elmacaco: I'll try that!

I think cleaning the drive as suggested by elmacaco may be the answer.
i'm having hard enough time with my new floppy drive ! wish i new about the teac drive and jumper settngs before i got stung for a new drive from the US !! :)
It loads seq and sounds fine but won't format i'm having to use my pc to format 720k first ! gonna post this soon if i can't get it sorted.I'll search first.
i love my MPC but it really can test ya patience every now and again, but making a beat makes up for it !!!

You might want to tell cats where you got the drive and what OS it won't format under so others won't get the same problem.

yeah, the 60 teaches patience too, it's like a zen master.
