recording track muting ?

is there a way to record when i do a track mute on the mpc sequencer? i.e. set sequence to record and halfway through the time its playing i mute track 1 and unmute it after a few counts? holla

You can do this by copying your sequence say sequence01 to sequence02 ect...and putting the mutes in on the sequence and working with it in song mode...as far as for dropping out the drums or whatnot you'd have to do that manually unless you wrote that into your sequence.

thats sort of what i've been doing already.. i was just hoping that there would be a way to record actual track mutes on the mpc

another way to do it is record it as a mixer function (record mix changes) then you can just set the volume to 0 at the spot you want, put it back up to where you want after, but this is recorded on a sequence! be careful, the values will stick where you leave them..

that would work if i was using my mpc to create the sounds.. but i'm only using the mpc for midi and am using my triton for sounds.. any other ways?

no, dont think you can record that.
easiest place i reckon is the erase page. you can erase chunks easiest there, OR the ERASE button, while recording, use it the same as the track off/on thingy and just erase the parts while its playing.

why cant you record a midi control change that lowers the volume of the sequence then raises it again?
I dont own a Triton but Im sure it has a midi commmand to "mute channel" or "turn channel off" and back on when you tell it to. It would be pretty whack if you did not.
