Sequencing and Working with time signatures

Hey everyone, thanks for all the insight. I finally received my MPC2000xl after waiting 9 months to get it fixed! Now upon starting out, my first problem is in sequencing - and getting the bars to match up correctly when it comes to looping.

I have no knowledge of time sigs and my beats are always like 1 or 2 too many over the bar - not flowing right. For example, if I wanted to lay down a bassline to repeat only 2 bars, it would start back at the beginning too early to hear the last few notes (it would end on 02:02:13 or whatever).

I hope you masters of this machine understand what I am trying to say, and can pass some wisdom down. I really want to get ahold of the sequencing - any pointers starting out?

in order to get the loop to fit right, you gotta play around with some of the features. try time stretching it, or you can change the bpm and maybe that will help you out.
