MPC 4000 sync to M-box via midi

Hello,

was wondering is anyone using the MPC 4000 sync to an M-box via midi? Would like to know what is a good Midi connection to use with this combo, seeing as the M-box doesn't come with midi? Trying to dump my tracks (tracking) into pro-tools. want to make sure that everything is locked up seeing as the M-box limited to ins & outs.

Also is there any latency/draging problems when tracking into protools with the M-box from the MPC 4000?

PS: I am running everything through a Ramsa DA7 mixing console.

we have some of the same peices of gear da7, 4000,mbox I also run digi 001...you might have to invest in a usb midi sync box,connect your syncbox to one usb port & the mbox to the other,then your mp to the midi in of the syncbox and assign your midi clocks....

How does the M-box work for you in conjunction with the Ramsa DA7 mixing console? Basically all i am trying to do is, if some one wants a beat, i would dump the seperated tracks to pro-tools via the M-box (seperated bass kick trk1, snare trk 2, etc...) take it to a bigger studio protools set up and mix it there on the bigger mixing board. The other thing is that I would probably track rough vocals at my home studio and record the real vocals at the bigger studio. Sometimes i might recieve a file with the vocals on one track and the beat on another track to remix it. In a nut shell is all this possible with the M-box?

Would love to use my board automation when dumping tracks also, to have the song pre arranged in protools with the punch ins & outs. Really like the sound of the console!! Debated for months a year ago if i should get the DA7 console or the Digi 002 console..The only thing I didnt like about the 002 console was that as a stand alone mixer you could only use 8 inputs. I usually only track things out if i have to! Other than that I usually only make a rough mix to my cd burner.

Plus I travel alot, and the m-box seemed to be the only solution to carry around with every where verses trying to lug around the Digi 002 console + computer to make things happen. Figured this way I would be good where ever i am at to make things happen if the situation arises.

sounds like you already have it going right,any daw woks well with the da7...

Would you Midi the MPC to the DA7 mixing console, to the Mbox's MIDI interface? or MPC to MIDI interface to the DA7? To use the midi with the mixing board.

i would use the syncbox as the central hub for all midi transmitting & lock up everything that way.
