Hi!

Just a quick question......if I was to buy a keyboard to use with my MPC2Kxl.....what would I be able to do that I can't do with just the MPC2Kxl on its own?

i know i would use a midi keyboard just for the melody alone.. i dont like the feel of tapping on the pads for a melody, its not as smooth as it would be on keys...

thanks man,

are the key changes done in the MPC or does the keyboard make the note changes itself?

I mean to play out a melody on the keyboard would you need to change the pitches of the sample in the MPC or can the keyboard automaically allow you to play the sample up and down the keyboard?

On the Xl you can use autochromatic assign.(I think that's what' it's called)It will allow you to spread the sound/sample over the keys in different tones.I may be wrong because i use the 2K.So,i'm not 100% sure.

Yeah you use the autochromatic function on the MPC 2000 XL. I just got a midi keyboard a couple of weeks ago. It really makes playing sounds alot easier.
