I recently tried to load the Zip disk which I've been working with the last half year, and it failed. All I get is 'Disk Read Error!!', and the external Zip drive making a lot of noise - clicking. I guess it's the disk that's broken, but I really need the tracks that were on it. What should I do, what can I do?

Nah, stupid me. Actually, for me, it was the first time working with Zip, so I figured them disks 'd last long..

They last really well in my experience. I've got some three years old now and they still work. It's a good idea to buy some spares, and back up your sounds to another disk - maybe even transfer to a PC and burn off onto CDR for extra protection.

I ALWAYS make backups of APS, ALL and all samples to cdrw for safekeeping. Firs couple of ZIP I had were giving me problems, now I am OK with Fuji zip disks. I've had no problems for some months now. It takes an unfortunate accident (you losing some stuff) to actually get you to start saving and backing up. A hard lesson to learn.. sorry to hear that man.. save everything to pc/cdrw/cdr/extra zip disk/ something somewhere.....

True. Shit, I'ma look for some computer expert who can save some data from the disk. On it was about 20 finished instrumentals, can't just give it up like that.

I think I read somewhere in the forum if I'm not mistaken MPC3000 does data recovery, I can't remember exactly..
