buy it try it and sell it if you don't like it

While you're checking out the FMR RNC, check out their "Really Nice Mic Pre" too. It's a great buy and it's got the same kind of high quailty for low price that the compressor has.

If you use a computer, there are some phat plug ins that can funk up your signal too. The Bomb Factory plugs are sweet and so is the Analog Channel. I've also been using these free chumpees called the Fish Filets that are absolutely ridiculous.
