Wondering if anyone uses a footswitch with the mpc2000xl. Is there any way to change sequences with a midi footswitch?

Well you can always assingn one of the function keys to your midi footswitch but as TicToc pointed out the next seq button is handier.
Face it you need to select the next sequence with your datawheel b4 you can actually switch to the next sequence. So you you might as well click the next sequence function key while you're at it but if you really want to use the footswitch to emulate this then that will work as well

let me rephrase. i am a guitarist and my hands are tied. i need a complete hands free solution to changing sequences at any point (like the next sequence function) and also changing between my loaded programs.

1. is this possible to do on the mpc2000xl?

2. if it is, do i need a certain type of footswitch or would any midi footswitch do.

thanks.

A complete next sequence procedure involves also the use of the data wheel so no it is not possible. otherwise do as I described in my previous post.

why not set your sequences up in song mode, and then build in all your change ups that way? If your trying to do everything on the fly then it won't work, but it you have you songs mapped out you can do it this way.

ok. forget next sequence. say i set this up in song mode. if i have 4 songs and 4 loaded programs would i able to switch between them using a footswitch? consider song1 to go with program1, song2 with program2, etc. i need to be able to toggle between these without putting down my guitar and "stopping" the set.
