Keyboard Recommendations for use with 2Kxl?

What is the best keyboard for me to buy to use with my MPC 2KXL? I have been looking at the Korg Mikrokontrol keyboard...it looks like the kind of thing I want...37 notes, Midi IN / OUT / THRU etc....but I am really not sure....

Microkontrol sounds like overkill if all you want to do is use it with your mpc. Why wouldn't a basic midi controller like an Ediro PCR, or something from MAudio do the job...? You already got pads on your mp.

Edirol is made by Roland?

What about this one?....it looks like it should do the job...and its nearly half the price of the Mikrokontrol..

man im feelin that comment about a basic controller or midi keyboard. my first keyboard i bought was a kawai KC-20. nothing expensive, but it started me out and i still use it. i just dont use the presets from it anymore because i have bunch of sounds now

do you think that keyboard is still too much then?

I dont wanna overspend for functions I wont even be using...but I dont wanna wish I had spent a little bit more and got sum slightly better schit.

I had my eye on that new joint the Korg Kontrol49. It's just like the MicroKontrol but has more full size keys and it's built more solid. I like it because I use VST's.




It got good reviews form Computer Music magazine.

PC300 is an old model so you can't buy 'em new anymore (i don't think so anyway). The current equivalent would be something like the PCR-50.

If thats the case I'd go for whichever feels best to you (keys, build quality, etc).
The pads on the MicroKontrol just give you the option of bangin' on pads instead of playing keys. Which is cool, but if you already have an mpc...

what are you using for a sound module? get a board like triton, motif

Maybe hold off for a bit if you can... Edirol are apparently releasing new PCRs, and these new CME UF controllers look dope.
