herb is cool, but he all kinds of popular. Thouse records are a dime a dozen. Not knocking him as a musician but for samples that would be like sampling barry mannilow or elvis. Or some other real real famous cats.

Elvis has a nice break in "Put Your Hand In the Hand"
IMO, it doesn't matter who you're sampling unless it is something very recognizable. But if you're chopping that shit up and completely flipping it, no one will notice (most of the time).
