file recovery for external zip drive

I loaded some sounds from one zip disk into the mpc and when I was ready tosave the beat I did, I used a different disk, saved my work and turned everything off. This morning I tried to load up and it looks like my zip drive copied the files of my sound disk to my main disk and I cant load any beats. The names of my beats aren't even there. and anthing I do try to load says wrong file format
help please................
