Yes... another card reader question.

I just want to know... no $hit... is it really worth changing to it?
I've had my internal Zip 250 for 4 years now and never had a problem (now it probably won't work when I get home ).
I've read how to install it which is as simple as replacing my Zip was.
Is it the $hit or just a bunch of Hype?

its undeniably the best thing you could ever do. zips are relic. even krs has a card reader installed in hios mpc, and he doesnt even own an mpc.

Good point!.. If KRS uses it in his imaginary MPC, everybody should get one!

Consider yourself lucky if you've never had a zip problem.

I think it is definitely worth it..... no moving parts in the card reader, less chance of a break down..... and the card reader is faster, and you can get more storage, and it cost less per MB for the discs....... not to mention zips will be phased out before long.

For now I'll stick with my Zip drive until it dies on me then I'll go for the card reader.

so the real question be...is it better to have an internal flash reading drive or an external hardrive? which is faster and more durable?also, wouldnt it be easier to back up your files on the external hardrive cuz you can transfer your files onto any other hardrive for that extra "permanent" backup storage...all you super-sonic experts out there hit me back some por favor...

I think its better to have an flash drive than a hard drive. The problem is that you cannot easily transfer files from your computer to the scsi hard drive because pc's cannot read mpc formated hard drives. You have to load every single sample in mpc memory from zip's before saving on hard drive.

i found the answer..have both the multicard flash reader and an external hardrive...thanks to the help
