How to get that bass sound

I'm going to try that with a track tonight or this weekend with reason. Get my track done and use basic sub bass or something. then once i'm finished, go back and mess with the bass and drums and see what I get. Diffrent approaches will change up your style thanks

But tell me:
How can i get that sub bass?

layer a sine underneaty, use an spl or overload your eq at 60hz and limit the buggery outta it...

oh really? most of the hip hop i hear around here in cali comes out of woofers. i can even identify some songs just by hearing the bass by itself.

Of course you can, but look at what I said. My music is not bass driven. I said the key to my songs is choice of samples and drum selection. I can spot seveal song just by basline. DeeP Cover, Too short-I'm a player. Even when I hear the bassline to T.R.O.Y I know its that song because its so distictive, but thats there music. Mine is not bass driven.

and this is the crux, if toninho has a similar style your advice was probably right (although id never tell some one to go the easy route) if he doesn't however he may wanna not take your advice...i mean if he does dub the advice about not worrying about bass couldn't be more wrong-

I do like dubmunkey do.

i use a generic bass, then later fit the bass to the track. Actually my generic bass sounds pretty good too.

Anyway around it, your bass has to interact well with your kick drum. I think you might hear good bass sounds in like a hiphop track and wonder how to get yours like that, the trick is that alot of the bass hits are layered with the kick drum, or inter-play with the kick drum................this makes it hit hard.

you should be able to play both your kick and your bass at the same time without getting extreme mudd.

But id say dont worry so much how indivdually your bass sounds, but how it sounds with your kick. If you are using a bass sound from a module, odds are you probably dont have to do much. Fit good kicks with a plain and simple sub bass and you should be fine. Focus on the pattern and how the bass interplays with the drums. Later refix the bass so it fits in real nice.
