I have a pretty good collection of drum breaks on vinyl...but I just can't find a WIDE open rimshot to sample...It would really help me out if you could direct to a place where I could find some...

and not just the breaks. If you got any sort of soul or jazz collection, you already have it.

doesn't even have to be from vinyl, sample from newer performances too.

filter, pan, eq, chop... try it all if you find one that you particularly like...

But yo, I was sayin what about them Al Green drums, Sneakin in the back, Drum Drops, Bill Withers 'Use me', Isley's 'Livin for the love of you'....those all got open rims, I'll check back when I think of more...

but look at old 70s rock records

Or old roots reggae ....... Augustus Pablo "King Tubby Meets The Rockers Uptown" .... One of the most famous rim sounds ever.

Or go through the rim sounds on classic drum machines.

vanfanel, i have a huge open rim sound for you.

it's david bowie's "soul years", rim's gotta nice reverb but it can be chopped
off if thats not your thing.
