Hi guys,

Recently just purchased a 1000, and trying to compose simple double time drums patterns...(timbaland etc...)

I have been messing around with different settings and time sig's...but kinda lost on how to set this up...could someone please assist me here, or point me out to a thread that can help me.

Thanks

Use trips and note repeat.

Just rock a slower tempo say maybe 60 bpm to around 75, 80 bpm or so. Also set the quant. to 32 note. the 'double' feel in a double time beat comes mostly from the 32 note programming. Of course you can simple it up with 16 note but it won't move as much. Yeah man, just use a combo of 8(1/8th) note, 16(1/16th) note, or 32(1/32nd) note timings with the above mentioned bpm tempo, you'll figure it out.

if your doing doubletime with slow tempo and simple beat, its worth while to
put a shaker or hihat on the backbeat of a 1/8 feel beat, like
12345678
you dont wanna overdue it, but a simple hint that were double time here so
double up your flow chump!! :D

how about doubling your time.

A normal track is like 90 bpm. Double it to 180 bpm. Use 1/8ths and 16ths. You can also us 32nds to get crazy rolls. Instead of using 2 bars with the snare on the 2 and 4, use 4 bars with the snares on just the 2s.

8th notes then become 16ths, 16ths like 32nds, 32nds like 64ths at double bpm. You can get very differant groove to the track like that.

Also use the note repeat button.

Experiment .
