I'm having a problem with changing the position of a drum in the sequence. I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong of if that was taken out of the MPC 1000 line.
I also don't understand what a "voice" is when refering to an MPC.

its kind of dumb the way they made moving objects within step edit for the 1000

you highlight the object you want to move, then hold the c&p button, then press copy.

then you have to move to the time where you want the copied sample to go and press paste. then go back and delete the item you just copied, unless you still want it there aswell!?

its retarted, but as far as i know, its the only way. And to answer your question, to my knowledge(very basic, lol) a voice is like a tunnel. I thnk the mpc has 128 note polyphony meaning it can play up to 128 samples at the same time. So you have 128 tunnels to travel through. When a sample is triggered it is a voice travelling through 1 of the 128 available polyphony slots

^^^
i am retarted but i think that is the jist of it

i think the mpc 1k has only 32 voice polyphony, i could be wrong though.
