Weird (software?) bug in my 2000xl

Hi,

I record something on a track. When I'm finished, I press overdub to cancel the record mode and the sequencer keeps playing what I'm just recorded (I use loop).

When I now want to use the "next seq" screen I push the "next seq" button, but now nothing wil happen... The "next seq" screen just does not show up...

When I stop the sequencer and start playing again the "next seq" button works again. Pretty weird, and it's annoying.

I have the same problem the other way around; when I'm playing with track mute via the pads (or not, does not matter), and I use "next seq", that works. But when I now want to record something by pressing (and holding) play and tapping the overdub button, that won't work...

I was wondering if anyone has the same problem. It does not look like a hardware problem to me, since all buttons work fine.

I'm running OS 1.14 by the way.

That's what the overdub button does, it "overdubs" on top of what was already recorded, if you want to record and erase anything you've previously recorded then hit REC/PLAY, not OVERDUB/PLAY.


Not sure about the next sequence problem but I'm guessing you're doin somethin wrong.

As for the second part make sure you aren't trying to play the tracks you've muted.If i understand your question right that's what it sounds like you've done.

mine does the same thing. I think that is just the way it is. No problem to me but it would be a nice feature

it aint a bug. you gottta stop the seq first then press play.. annoying ..

Hmm. That sucks, especially in a live situation. Fortunately I do not gig (yet). Personally I make a lot of sequences who are a bit the same and record something extra here and there, and switch between the sequences.

I believe it's a function of the undo buffer...


when you press "overdub" to end the record...the info that you just input is in the usable memory...in order to record to another seq you have to stop which allows the info to be stored in the undo buffer before you can record again
