I remember seein some posts here about how only certain hard drives work with the MPC2KXL. I found an IBM Ultrastar 4.5gb 68 pin scsi HD for $18. That sounds like a deal to me so im about to jump on it, but before I do i wanted to know would it would wit my MPC? Could someone also fill me in on the pro's an con's of an external HD as compared to a zip? I don't got turntables [yet] to do my sampling from so I would still be choppin shit on comp and sending it to the MPC via floppy. I guess the HD is good only if you got tables linked up to ur mpc? After makin something on the MPC i can store it on the HD right? So i wouldn't have to keep a sorted collection of floppies. Last question, is it tricky keepin track of samples once in the HD? I'm sure you can't make folders or anything thru the MPC interface so it would just be an HD full of maddd samples that I woulda have browse thru, right? thanks in advance.
