Hi. I was wonder, what internal 250mb zip drives are compatible with the MPC2000XL? Thanks for your time.

No one knows for sure - we're not entirely sure why some work and others dont, there doesn't appear to be a pattern.

So do you think I'd be better of then getting an external drive then, and save the hassle?

Well, internal 100MB drives dont seem to be a problem so I would recommend that. Especially as external SCSI zip drives are not actually made anymore, so getting them involves a fair amount of hassle (Ebay is your best bet). Of course, if you want external drives, you could always consider a SCSI hard drive.

2 Cents for the pot. If you're like me and you cypher with other beat heads you already know not every one has a zip drive. Thus if you were to swap sounds that ole' floppy drive is still very universal, just think , it would be a BI**H to get your Tutor.com free kit and not be able to transfer it to your MPC. As for the 100mb zip drives wether internal or external 250mb beats that one in the head especially if you have some nice archives. Besides for near or the same price you can cop an external 250mb zip drive. Therefore again if you cypher you don't need to lug your MPC around thus giving you mobility. I myself agree with the tutor, however folks are catching hell trying to find the correct scsi cord. All external Scsi zip drives come with a cable, rather than try to find another cable use the one you paid for and buy an adapter. AIGHT!!

Well I've found a 250mb external zip drive, and a 50-25 pin scsi cable for good prices. So I think I'm gonna bust it. I just know for the deal/storage I can hold alot more stuff on the 250 zips. Thanks for your help.
