What I find funny is you cats refer to the scratch magazine where he refers to the new Common track, that magazine is like three months old, he never says the name of the track is THE CORNER, and Kanye did like 9 songs on that lp so how do you even know he's talking about that song? I don't find it grimy at all so there has to be another song on the album that he's referring to. The track is cool but a bit bland, it's not better than the takeover track he did for jay, or the guerilla monsoon rap he did for kweli... it's not really that great. It's cool cause of the lyrics and the vibe and the statement, but the beat by itself is a little... dull. Good sound, good mix, not alot going on in the beat really... I think kanye is a dope artist, but he's just hugely overrated as a producer and highly underrated as a mc.... I said it before and I'll say it again, not a real big fan of his beats but I love his raps. Production wise he's not doing anything that RZA wasn't doing better in 93 and 94...

I respect the successes of others and maybe some on this board will be just as successful as all the other producers since many claim that kanye`s aka hot producer at the moment tracks are soft as butter. Since it is so simply and basic then the same people can have just as much successs making even better tracks. I like, enjoy, and respect his work since the D. Dot days so I buy his CDs cuz the man got to eat. I hope that others with just as hot tracks and less negative opinions make any better tracks so I could buy your tracks too. And the board member could possibly rate your tracks and beats. Opiniions are free don`t without dedication, a dream, and bumping tracks no one will support your music and most importantly your life. For the next Kanye, future Primo, or Rza reincarnated do your thing. With no hate and much love. :D

Like I said before early on in this thread that won't die, you can find these drums on 'Strictly Breaks'. The title of the track is 'Drums of death'. They are also I believe on Drum Crazy Vol.1, and you can get em free at www.phatdrumloops.com. Check 'the-breaks.com' for the original old skool source I ain't a record collector.

i agree with stryke, common is the absolute shit! hot as flowers.
Kanye ...eh flavour of the month - common is royalty, kanye's beats are rubbish. IMO.
