My external zip drive was working fine until i just went to save a sequence and it told me there was a disk error. Now when i try and load a file its recognising the disk but not the data on the disk. Ive tried re formatting but i get an error when i do that aswell. I tried replacing the SCSI cable but it still wont work. Any ideas?

zip drives are known to fail eventually. Im on my 3rd one in 5 years. buy extra ones from scsi4samplers

This is my second on since December. The drive itself seems to be working fine, its not making any clicking sounds like the last 1 did before it broke. Guess its off to Ebay.

Sorry for the thread jack.

Does anyone know how to fix this common click problem? I've gone through 3 drives in 4 months.

Man I'm lucky! I've had tha same Zip250 for 4 years now!
But if does crap out, I'm going with an internal card reader.

I just noticed the actual SCSI port on the MPC is damaged. Can you get new port to go in the back, or will i have to get an internal drive?
